UN’s Development Agenda for 2016-2030 i.e. “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” comprising 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 related Targets have been adopted and signed by the Government of India in Sept 2015.
There is already a strong interest in, and response to, the ambitious 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by governments, international agencies, businesses, civil society and other institutions in UN member countries.
The SDGs also have strong relevance to universities and Higher Education institutions as education and research are explicitly recognized in a number of the SDGs.
University plays an important role as a convener and facilitator of support processes of SDGs to make an impact in our society.
Manav Rachna University introduces Peace and sustainability Club as Manav Rachna university has a strong faith in youth power and their conviction in making a better world.
Let’s join hands to attain Sustainable Development Goals and to attain peace by becoming a part of the peace club
This peace club is a platform through which we can pick up social, economic, and environmental issues. Together we can make small but impactful changes in our surroundings and to ourselves to make a difference and contribute to the better world.

Centre for Peace & Sustainability has signed Memorandum of Association with Institute of Peace and Action (MRCPS). This centre has been conceptualized with the generous support of Institute of Peace Research and Action (IPRA) involved in peace activities since last five decades. It has been involved in the past in dissemination of knowledge in the area of peace, completed many projects, published books. Conducted seminars, organized peace lecture series involving faculty and staff of reputed organizations. IPRA received financial support for the projects from Department of Education, MHRD, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)), Ford Foundation, National Council of Educational Research and Training, Departments of Women and Child Development, and Department Of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, UNESCO and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai for a more peaceful and secure world.

Mr. Mukesh Das -Student Head
Mukesh Das is an aspiring Industrial Engineering and Management student at Manav Rachna University. He has been an active part of extracurricular activities at university. His affectionate approach towards nature and social well-being brings him closer to our Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club. He constantly works to motivate himself and other students to take a holistic approach towards the development of their well-being through different activities organized under the Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club.
Ms. Muskan Khurana
Muskan Khurana, currently pursuing a Bachelor\’s of technology in computer science engineering from Manav Rachna University, is an enthusiastic learner. Her ability to show a caring, understanding and empowering environment is what makes her interested in Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club. Working on social causes has always been a part of her life since the start. She\’s been involved in many social activities in her college.
Ms. Aarzoo Kapoor
Ms. Aarzoo Kapoor, currently pursuing a Bachelor\’s of technology in computer science engineering from Manav Rachna University. She had been a part of Noora earlier and participated in many curricular activities.

Divyansh Ahuja is currently pursuing Industrial Engineering and Management from Manav Rachna University. His contribution to creative designs at various events has been well appreciated.
- Power To Youth: A Holistic Wellness Programme
Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club organized Power To Youth: A Holistic Wellness Programme for the students and faculties of Manav Rachna. The speaker guest for the session was Mr. Sandeep Sharma who has 25 years of industrial experience and has been conducting sessions and workshops on soft skills, Holistic Wellness, personality development at some of the most premium institutions and corporates across India.
The event was conducted by Mukesh Das, student coordinator for Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club in the presence of faculties and 35 students from the institution.
The session was conducted on healthy living habits, maintaining a balanced life, managing peer pressure and stress, and goal setting. Mr. Sandeep also answered curious questions from the audience on spirituality and meditation.
Attendees feedback for the session was positive with encouraging words for such events on spirituality, personality development, and common problems that we face in our daily lives.
2. Youth Against COVID-19- An online discussion
During this moment of despair caused by the pandemic Coronavirus, when everyone is bound to stay at home Manav Rachna Peace & Sustainability Club organized a discussion on Role of Youth Against COVID-19.
The participants of the discussion were students from Nepal and Manav Rachna with varied educational backgrounds who collectively and enthusiastically participated to discuss the role that youths can play in countering the current outbreak.
The participants discussed major agendas like stopping spread of fake news, community caring and sharing, helping the immunocompromised among us while stressing how to break the transmission chain effectively. The discussion was also on what measures we must take to keep ourselves and the people around us safe to stop the spread. They also praised the medical, police, and administrative personnel for their selfless hard work to stop coronavirus from spreading in the society. The elderly and immunocompromised must be cared for by us while also practicing self-isolation. The discussion also stressed on how we should bring food, medicines and necessary items at the doorstep of elderlies, and also, we must avoid stocking extra food supplies to stop avoidable food shortage in the market.
The discussion was joined by a total of 20 online participants who shared their thoughts on the roles that youth must play in this difficult situation and also remain productive at home. The participants were extremely happy about the discussion and shared positive messages among themselves. The participants shared that more of such interactive events must be organized among students from these two nations.
MANAV RACHNA PEACE AND SUSTAINABILITY CLUB ORGANIZED ‘POETS IN DARK- POETRY AGAINST SOCIAL INJUSTICE’
Manav Rachna Peace and Sustainability Club organized ‘Poets in Dark- Poetry Against Social Injustice’ online poetry writing competition with the aim to raise voice against social injustices in words.
Poems on injustices prevailing in the society bring us to crossroads and make us rethink on the way society and all of us are moving. This event involved participation from students beyond our university and covering around 50 participants from universities across India from colleges like FORE School of Management, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur and many more on the list.
