Department of Student’s Welfare

About DSW

Manav Rachna University is committed to helping its students achieve success in all aspects of their lives, including academic, personal, and social. The university recognizes that successful individuals possess a combination of high-quality life, a successful career, and a positive impact on society. To help students achieve these goals, the university offers a unique Clan-based Life Skills Program that focuses on enhancing life skills, developing career skills, promoting values, leadership, and communication, and fostering purposeful living. The Students Welfare department manages the Life Skills Program and the Clan-based structure, which includes four clans: Wild Cats, Forest Rhinos, Water Sharks, and Air Falcons. The department aims to create an environment that promotes academic excellence and personal development while keeping the fun factor alive. The Clan’s role is to facilitate an environment for students to engage across physical infrastructures, promote friendship and respect among pupils, empower students and educator groups to collaborate in aiding the development of real-life skills, create a sense of responsibility, loyalty, and tolerance towards seniors, peers, and the parent institution, and harness the talent of a larger number of students. The department offers a variety of opportunities for students to develop their communication, leadership, time-management, and resource-management skills, as well as build their confidence. The Student Council, under the Dean of Students Welfare, handles various committees for technical and cultural events, and each committee has its coordinator to ensure the smooth organization and execution of events. The department also has various societies, such as the Art Society, Media Society, Fashion Society, Music Society, Dance Society, Drama Society, Literary Society, Technical Society, Gaming Society, CSR, and Sports Society, which provide students with opportunities to explore their interests and develop their talents. The Students Welfare department serves as a liaison between students and the administration, providing leadership, and social, extracurricular, and academic counseling programs. The department’s goal is to develop the overall personality of students and bring out their hidden talents by identifying those with an interest in music, dance, literature, fashion, arts, social responsibility, theatre, photography, and health. The department also collaborates with organizations such as AICTE and UGC for programs like Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, FIT India Movement, and various anti-ragging seminars, Red Cross, human rights, and road safety initiatives. As part of the co-curricular activities, Students Welfare shares responsibility for educational tours organized by teaching departments. The department also organizes a variety of workshops, courses, talent competitions, and cultural events such as the annual Cultural Fest “RESURRECTION,” aimed at promoting the rich culture and heritage of the country. National festivals such as Independence Day and Republic Day are celebrated with patriotic fervor, and other national and international festivals like Holi, Diwali, Navratri, Christmas, and International Women’s Day are also celebrated with enthusiasm. These celebrations provide students with opportunities to learn about different cultures and participate in events that showcase their own talents.
