The entrepreneurship activities in Department of Biotechnology
A project entitled Bioformulation- A Novel Ecofriendly Solution Against Fungal Pathogens in Tomato was awarded to Ms. Deepti Sadana, Research Scholar, Ph.D Programme 2011-12 (Registration No. 11/Ph.D/0031), Department of Biotechnology, FET under Funding Scheme: IndianOil Startup Scheme (IOSUS). Funds for the proposed project till PoC Stage is 172 lacs. The team members along with Ms. Deepti Sadana are faculty members Dr. SaritaSachdeva, Dr. Nidhi Didwania and Dr. Abhilasha Shourie. The scheme aims to support innovative ideas that have significant business potential, social relevance and/or are focussed on environment-protection. Further, such validated PoCs may be supported for commercialization through equity participation.
Student of B.Tech Biotechnology Batch 2012-16- Mr Kushgra Makhija, set up his own venture under the banner of his parental company ‘Swarn Enetrprises’, and started to manufacture a range of disinfectant products. After running the venture successfully for one year he moved to pursue MBA at SP Jain School of Global Management, Singapore, with the aim to learn the concepts of business and take his venture to new heights.
