ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Sustainable development is considered in terms of a multi-dimensional outcome, i.e. a) environmental sustainability, b) economic sustainability and c) social sustainability. Further, in contemporary times, the much-needed agility to sustainability is provided by technology.
Defining sustainability with an emphasis on ecological integrity without economic stability or social cohesion gives rise to equally narrow- or intolerant attitudes and policies while hindering collective responsiveness to emerging issues. It must be emphasized that these are interdependent and mutually reinforcing elements of the same integrated process of sustainable development. The key to sustainable future is sustainable ruralisation and urban transformation instead of sustainable urbanization and rural transformation.
The conference will discuss various important aspects of promoting sustainable development, around SDGs (sustainable development goals) as defined by UN with a focus on those which impact the comprehensive growth of India,
