Interaction with Ms. Shraddha Singaurey, Wayne State University, USA (24th February 2020)

 

 

IEC, MREI, organized an interaction of Ms. Shraddha Singaurey, Indian Adviser for Wayne State University, USA on 24th February 2020. The interaction was organized for the pre-final and final year students of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology – MRU and MRIIRS. More than 90 students of both the Universities attended the same. Ms. Shraddha Singaurey emphasized on various strategies to approach the application process for the US Universities and admission requirements. She also guided the students as how to write the Statement of Purpose, build a resume and arrange Letter of Recommendation(s).
She also gave a brief introduction about Wayne State University, the programs offered by the University, some Research opportunities, and scholarships that could be offered to the students.
The lecture was very informative and the students fully utilized the opportunity provided to them.

 



Interaction with Dr. Krishna Challagulla from Laurentian University, Canada (20th Feb 2020)

 

 

Centre for International Collaboration, MREI organized a talk by Dr. Krishna Challagulla, Program Coordinator for Fast Track Master’s Program at Laurentian University, Canada.
The interaction was organized for the pre-final and final year students of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, MRU and MRIIRS. Dr. Krishna gave a brief introduction about the Laurentian University along with the details of the Master of Engineering Program at the Bharti School of Engineering, Laurentian University. The main focus of the talk was the fast track one year course of Master of Engineering for the Mechanical, Civil and Automobile Engineering students of MREI. The lecture was very informative and the students fully utilized the opportunity provided to them.

 



Prof. (Dr.) Prof. Nimay Kalyani, Newcastle Business School, Australia, visited Manav Rachna campus (18th Dec 2019)

 

 

Prof. Nimay Kalyani (International Coordinator South Asia, Lecturer Faculty of Business and Law), Newcastle Business School, Australia, visited Manav Rachna campus on 18th Dec 2019 to discuss and identify the active areas of cooperation between both the universities, scholarships offered by the host university for the students of the partner universities, launching the customized programmes and courses for the students including joint PhD programmes.

 



Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Devabhaktuni, Purdue University Northwest, visited MRU (17th Dec 2019)

Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Devabhaktuni, Department Chair & Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Purdue University Northwest, visited Manav Rachna campus on 17th Dec 2019. The purpose of the visit was to explore different areas of joint collaboration like faculty and student exchange, joint research and launching joint degree programmes.

 

 



 

Dr. Jo Barnes, University of West of England, Visited MRU (17th March 2017)

Dr. Jo Barnes, Faculty of Environment and Technology, the University of the West of England, visited Manav Rachna University on 17th March 2017. Dr. Jo holds the position of Programme Leader, M.Sc. Environmental Management & M.Sc. Environmental Consultancy and Course Director, Air Quality short courses (CPD) and has worked extensively in the area of air quality management, policy and practice. Dr. Jo interacted with Col. Girish Kumar Sharma (Director-Planning & Coordination), Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Varshney (Director MRIIC) and Prof. (Dr.) B.M. Bahal (Dean Research and App Sciences, MRU) and discussed the possibilities of future collaborative work. She also made a presentation about the various programmes at the University of the West of England during an interaction with Deans and HoDs of Manav Rachna University and members of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences cluster. Dr. Jo visited MRIIC and met Prof. B.S. Gill (Executive Director MRIIC) and his team. She saw the demonstration of air filter being developed by MRIIC. She appreciated the innovative concept of removing particulate matter from the atmosphere.

 



Norwegian Institute of Water Research Team’s Visited Manav Rachna Campus (12th Feb 2018)
A team of three members visited Manav Rachna University on 12th Feb 2018: Dr Luca Nizzetto, Research Scientist, Norwegian Institute of Water Research (NIVA); Eirik Steindal, Researcher, NIVA; Dr Girija Bharat, Director, Mu Gamma Consultants Pvt. Ltd. The team members met with the concerned departments for a detailed discussion on mutual areas of interest and capacity building. The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) is Norway’s leading institute for basic and applied research on marine and freshwaters.

 



 

Delegation from the University of the West of England visits MREI campus (15th Feb 2018)

Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK, have a long-standing relationship for collaboration in the areas of Environment & Technology. The UWE Bristol is one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West of England and is known for its research in areas such as healthcare and green energy. A delegation of eminent educationists from UWE is visiting the MREI campus on 15th Feb 2018. The delegation was highly appreciative of the academic eco-system and infrastructure at the campus and was glad to note that MREI and UWE are both working towards the common goal of making a difference to the lives of others.

 



OshState University, Kyrgyzstan @Faculty of Education, MRU (13th October 2018)
As an extension of association of Faculty of Education, MRU, with Department of School Education, Panchkula, the Osh State University, Kyrgyzstan, visited MRU on 13th October 2018. The Osh State University has 3,000 Indian Students pursuing Medical Studies). During the interaction, a virtual tour of Manav Rachna Vidyantariksha was organized which highlighted about our foreign collaborations across plethora and discussions on student and faculty exchange took place.

 



Senior Advisor to UN Secretary General arrives for Guest Lecture in ManavRachna University (24th Nov 2018)

Department of Management, MRU, organized a Guest Lecture with the Professors and students of the department with Mr. Roland Schatz (CEO, MediaTenor and Senior Advisor to UN Secretary General) on 24th Nov 2018. Mr. Roland Schatz is the founder and CEO of Media Tenor International and he is the Senior Advisor to United Nations UNder Secretary-General. He is also the founder of UNSGII Foundation. The interaction was centered on the 17 SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) given by the United Nations towards a fully sustainable planet in 2030. All Deans, HODs and Faculties of MRU attended the enlightening session of Mr. Schatz.

 



Dialogue between Manav Rachna University and Japanese Delegates

Young Delegation from Soka Gakkai International (SGI) visited Manav Rachna University (MRU) to promote the philosophy of peace and empower individuals towards positive global change. The interaction started with a brief introduction of Manav Rachna University and its philosophy. This was followed by an introduction of SGI by the Japanese Delegation wherein they shared the sole foundation of the organization and how the global movement of peace is spreading across the world. The delegation reiterated the belief of SGI which stated- “We believe peace begins with cherishing people in our immediate circle”.

Mr. Akiyasu Shiga and Ms. Hiroko Ogushi were the esteemed members of the delegation who interacted with the students and faculty members of MRU.

A cultural exchange from both the organizations was also the part of it. RUDRA– The Dance Society of MRU and MOKSH– The Music Society of MRU gave beautiful and mesmerizing cultural performances which were appreciated by the Japanese Delegation. Japenese delegation sang enthralling cultural songs including Vande Mataram. Such cultural exchange enhanced the understanding of the common vision that Manav Rachna and SGI share: the vision of peace and creating and fostering better human beings.

The interaction ended with an interview of MRU students with Seikyo Shimbun (one of the largest newspapers in Japan).
