About the Workshop

Wavelet theory evolved as mathematicians from areas such as harmonic analysis, functional analysis, approximation theory, quantum field theory & signal analysis brought their specialties together to develop the foundational results and construct algorithms for use in applications.

In all these areas, wavelet-like algorithms replaced the classical Fourier-type expansion of a function. The great success of wavelets lies in their many desired properties, such as multiscale structure, sparse representation, efficient approximation schemes, good time-frequency localization, and fast computational algorithms.

As the major tool for multiscale data analysis, wavelets have a wide scope of applications in mathematics, engineering, physics, sciences, and industries. Wavelets theory is also utilized to create and analyze economic growth models, fiscal sustainability, epidemic dynamics, electric power systems, etc.

The workshop’s objective is to acquaint the participants with the Wavelet Theory and its varied applications in various areas, especially in Image analysis, Data Science & PDEs.

Thus, the workshop intends to allow participants to broaden the horizon of their knowledge in research and enrich their skills in conducting quality teaching, research, and innovation.

We plan the workshop for a mixed audience, like, M.Sc, Ph.D., faculty, and engineers.
