Faculty Members Making A Mark Internationally

Honorary International Research Fellow, Luas, Finland

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava (the former VC-MRU & MD MREI) has been awarded the Honorary International Research Fellow, LUAS, Finland. This rare honour was bestowed upon him by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Finland Mr. Juha Sipila, who was in India (in February 2016) for the ‘Make In India’ on the invitation of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava (the former VC-MRU & MD MREI) at Lahti University of Applied Sciences Finland for ‘Business in Asia‘ Course for the Students International Business Programme (April 2017)
(Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava (the former VC-MRU & MD MREI), visited Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland, from 16th – 22nd April 2017. The purpose of Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava’s visit was to take ‘Business in Asia’ course for the students of bachelor’s degree Programme in International Business and to discuss and plan for future cooperation. In his meeting with LUAS team including Dr. Outi Kallioinen, President LUAS and Marjo-RiittaJärvinen, Vice-President, both the Institutions, that is MREI and LUAS have agreed to boost collaborative activities in the areas of education, research and internationalization of higher education.

 

 



 

 

Ms. Meena Kapahi (Associate Professor, MRU) as the Visiting Faculty, International Summer School 2017, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland (May – June 2017)

Meena Kapahi visited the LUAS campus as visiting lecturer during the International Summer School in the month of May – June 2017. The International Summer School started with the introduction of the programme and ice-breaking session ‘getting to know each other’ followed by various team-building activities. The 2-week study programme consisted of lectures, workshops, excursions, and writing an article in the summer school publication. As the visiting lecturer, she supervised and guided the student teams in their projects.

 



 

Dr. Seema Sharma (Assistant Professor, MRU) Invited at UNESCO, Slovenia, under OE4BW Mentoring Programme (1st – 4th July 2019)

Dr. Seema Sharma, Assistant Professor, Manav Rachna University was invited at UNESCO, Slovenia, under OE4BW mentoring programme(1st – 4th July 2019). She developed an OER on Emotional Intelligence, a 6 month-long project which required exemplary dedication along with content knowledge. The OER was developed with the aim of contributing to the achievement of 17 UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals and was applauded during the final presentation at Vipava, Slovenia.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava (the former VC-MRU & MD MREI) visited the University of the West of England, Bristol (23rd – 27th April 2017). During his visit, Prof. Srivastava had an interaction with the team UWE comprising Prof. Steven West (Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive Officer), Prof. Paul Olomolaiye (Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean, Faculty of Environment and Technology), Prof. Jane Harrington (Deputy VC and Provost, VCO – Directorate) and Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kashyap (Head of Department of Geography and Environmental Management). During various interactions with the UWE delegates, various agenda points were discussed.

Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, delivered the keynote address during the session on “Citizens and Urban Sustainability’ at the ongoing ‘Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2016’ conference. The Citizens and Urban Sustainability theme introduced key topics of sustainable and humanity urban development which enables to create a better living environment for citizens while preserving the life support systems of the planet. The session provided a holistic approach to promote environmental sustainability and human well being.

 

 



 

MRU Faculty at Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2016, LAMK, Finland

Ms. Meena Kapahi and Sanjana Malhotra (MRU) participated in the Smart Cities and Smart Regions 2016 conference, organized by Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Meena Kapahi delivered oral presentations on ‘Oyster Mushroom: Waste to Taste’ and ‘Smart Health in Smart Cities: Where does India stand’. She was also a reviewer and an International Steering Committee member of the conference. Ms. Sanjana Malhotra presented a paper on ‘Addressing the Challenge of Sustainable Electronic Waste Management’ at the conference. Captured below is the buzz that they created in the Finland media!
