Prof Krishnamoorthy Kannan is the Chair Professor- Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. He has a considerable experience of 40 years and has served in leading organizations including Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi; Research Centre and Manager Span Diagnostics Pvt LTD, Udhna, Surat; Nagaland University; Institute of Medical Technology, Surat, and others.

Prof. K. Kannan is currently co-founder of Upstablish Food Technology Pvt Ltd, Sukhdev Vihar, New Delhi, a new start-up company focusing on Plant protein-based products. He is also Director, Nivi Agro Foods, Bangalore focused on the preservation of horticultural products.

He has been a multidimensional person with productive output in academics, Industry, research and cultural activities. In the year 1979, he was awarded the Govt. of India scholarship for studies abroad and this enabled him to work in the Department of Biochemistry at the Imperial College of Science and Technology (London).

He has been regularly contributing in leading News papers such as Times of India, Hindu, Hindustan Times, Business India, Business Week etc; Talks on All India Radio, Doordarshan, Star TV etc; inaugurating and delivering keynote addresses at Academic meets. He was featured in Business India as one of the Technology Leaders in India and his work on Stem Cells appeared as a full page work in Business India in 1994. He was also the Editor and contributor of “A Text Book of Biotechnology” for Class XI and XII.
