EVENT: INVISALIGN UNIVERSITY EDUCATION PROGRAMME

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Manav Rachna Dental College, FDS, MRIIRS, in collaboration with INVISALIGN, started a University Education Programmeon 13th June 2022, covering the requirements for the completion of a certification course to become full fledged Invisalign providers for the post-graduate students. This is the first of its kind in North India and Fourth in whole of India.

The Inauguration was done in the presence of honorable Pro ViceChancellor, MRIIRS, Dr. Naresh Grover, Chief Guest of the event.The event began with the Inauguration ceremony with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by all the respected dignitaries on the stage followed by welcome notes by Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Arora, Professor and HOD Dept. of Orthodontics, MRDC, Prof. (Dr.)Arundeep Singh, Principal, MRDC and Prof. (Dr.) Puneet Batra, Director of PG studies.

Dr. BabandeepBajwa, Dr. Sunil Bhandari, Dr. Parul Singh, Dr. Durgesh Sharma and Mr. Vinay Aggarwal were the resource persons that comprised the team from Invisalign

Following this was the introductory lecture by Dr. BabandeepBajwa. Her first session was an overlay of the Invisalign Integrated University Curriculum. It began with the introduction of the PGs after which she introduced the Invisalign system. She explained the need for Invisalign and how it increases treatment efficacy.

After this the lecture continued with an overview of the system. She talked of the 12 million treated cases, over 1 million Asian patients and over 950 patents that have been accomplished by the Invisalign company worldwide.

Introductory information was provided on the Clincheck software, iTero intraoral scanning, the My Invisalign phone application, and the overall Align digital experience amongst other topics.

Session two comprised of the Align Innovations. This included detailed descriptions of the workings of the Smartforce features, Smarttrack Materials, Smartstage technology and attachments being used in the Invisalign. This was followed by an introduction to the Invisalign global gallery which is a database of thousands of Invisalign treated cases and also serves as data being processed by the Invisalign AI system.

Session three covered Patient engagements. This included customer expectations, online evaluation tool for remote monitoring and treatment submission process.

With this marked the end of the sessions by the guest speakers and the vote of thanks was given by Dr.Nitin Arora followed by the national anthem.

Workshop CDE Conducted in 2022

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Manav Rachna Dental College, FDS, MRIIRS, in collaboration with Manav Rachna University, organized a CDE and workshop on 9^th March 2022, which covered in detailed about the diagnosis and management of TMD

Dr.Vikas Aggarwal was the invited speaker for the event.He is an Alumni of Govt. Dental College, Patiala and has been private clinical practice for over 25years,withFELLOWSHIP from PFA, ICD, WCOI, BADI .Dr Aggarwal is the FIRST in Asia who is certified for treating patient with Disclusion time reduction technique

(DTR). He has done special training in MICD (Minimal Invasive Cosmetic Dentistry), DSD(Digital SmileDesigning), Sleep Dentistry, Full mouth rehabilitation and implants.He runs exclusive TMJA harmony clinic, and clinic VIVA, for TMD treatment. He is an eminent speaker and gives training to the dentists on TMD/ occlusion at international podium. He has been appointed as an Asian Mentor of the Asian College of Oral Implantology & Tissue Regeneration.

Workshop CDE Conducted in 2022

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Manav Rachna Dental College, FDS, MRIIRS, in collaboration with Balaji Dental and Craniofacial hospital,Chennai  organized a webinar on the topic “Tooth to Skull”,held on  29/04/2022 which covered in detail about the surgical management of patients and the Ortho-Surgical Interdisciplinary relationship.

Dr SM Balaji (Director & Consultant Cranio-Maxilofacial Surgeon Balaji Dental &Craniofacial Hospital) was the speaker for the webinar.The webinar was aimed Integrating this advancement into regular clinical surgical practice is an intellectual challenge for every practitioner, who is willing to use the scientific and artistic foundation for achieving predictable results. Meticulous understanding, integration of functional and aesthetic standards coupled with predictable post-therapeutic results, has to be a common denominator for such specialized and individualized patient care.

Workshop CDE Conducted in 2021

Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Manav Rachna Dental College, FDS, MRIIRS, in collaboration with Manav Rachna University, organized a CDE Conference on 29th November 2021, covering a wide array of topics from highly distinguished speakers. The event was sponsored by 3M, Koden, Sansin, and Welcare orthodontics.

Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Duggal (BDS, MDS Orthodontics, Chief CDER, AIIMS) was the invited chief guest. The conference was aimed at broadening the perspective of Orthodontics as a profession in itself. The guest speakers were Prof. (Dr.) NikhileshVaid (President, World Federation of Orthodontics), Prof. (Dr.) SrikrishnaChalsani (President, IOS), Prof. (Dr.) NR Krishnaswamy (Ex-president IOS, Chairman IBO), Prof. (Dr.) Sridevi Padmanabhan (Secretary, IOS), Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Singh Thakkar (President-elect, IOS), Prof. (Dr.) Puneet Batra (Editor, JIOS and Director PG board of studies MRDC).

The event began with the Inauguration ceremony with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by all the respected dignitaries on the stage followed by welcome notes by Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Arora, Professor and HOD Dept. of Orthodontics, MRDC and Prof. (Dr.) Arundeep Singh, Principal, MRDC. Followed by this was high tea at the designated halls.followed by lectures.
