SDG05- Gender Equality

MRU demonstrates its strong commitment to SDG 5–Gender Equality through inclusive admissions, data-driven governance and empowerment initiatives. In AY 2023–24,272 women were enrolled in undergraduate programs, including 22 first-generation learners, reflecting MRU’s success in expanding access to higher education. The university’s online Non-Paper Form (NPF) system ensures accurate gender-disaggregated data, enabling transparent tracking and targeted interventions. Eligible female students benefit from the Single Girl Child Scholarship, further encouraging participation. MRU nurtures women’s advancement through mentorship programs, leadership training, and gender-sensitization efforts led by the Gender Sensitization Cell. By combining digital inclusion, equitable policies and social support, MRU ensures that every woman learner is empowered to succeed—transforming gender equality from principle to practice and aligning higher education with sustainable, inclusive growth.
