Report on Industrial Visit: Haier Appliances India Pvt. Ltd.

 

School of Management and Commerce, Manav Rachna University planned an Industrial Visit with the support of Corporate Resource Centre to Haier Appliance India Pvt. Ltd.  on 3rd April 2024 for BBA (Business Analytics) 4th Semester and MBA (Business Analytics) 2nd Semester

Haier India is a 100 percent subsidiary of Haier Group, a fast-growing consumer durables company. Haier is the world’s No. 1 brand of Major Appliances* for 15 consecutive years, as per Euromonitor International. The company initiated its commercial operations in India in February 2003 and offers a wide range of products across categories like Refrigerators, Air conditioners, Washing Machines, Wine Cellars, Deep Freezers, Water Heaters, LED TVs, and commercial Air Conditioners.

The students were welcomed by the officials of Haier. Thereafter, they were given a short presentation regarding the Company and its products. The students were also shown a small video to throw light on the global positioning of the brand. Students were taken to visit the manufacturing unit of Semi-automatic machines to explain  the manufacturing process.

Students could correlate the various topics of Operations & Supply Chain Management which had been taught in their classes and the interaction / discussion with the senior Company officials gave them the insight about the Haier manufacturing operations and other processes.

The visit concluded with a lunch offered by the company.

Visiting a manufacturing unit of semi-automatic washing machines by Haier can offer several learning outcomes, including:
