Report on Industrial Visit : Amul Banas Dairy February 2024
School of Management and Commerce, Manav Rachna University planned an Industrial Visit to Amul Banas Dairy on 27h Feuburary 2024 for BBA Finance and Accounts, BBA Global Operation Management and BBA Health Care Management. The coordinators for the industry visit were Ms Vandna Zutshi Bhat, Assistant Prof, SMC, MRU and Dr. Shiv Kumar Assistant Prof, SMC, MRU. About 47 students were part of the group
The students were welcomed by Mr Ajay and Mr Saurav from Banas Dairy. The students were first taken to the unloading area where the milk tankers from Gujarat are weighed and the milk is pumped to the insulated storage tanks for further processing and packaging. The students had the opportunity of visiting various units which were processing the milk into products like Cheese, sweets and curd.
Learnings: The round around the plant made the student aware of various features of a manufacturing plant like
- Plant layout,
- Various quality tools like Kaizen which enable quality assurance to be built into the Final product.
The students were shown two documentaries on the journey of the milk cooperative and its impact on the lives of Diary farmers in India. The documentary also threw light on the various projects undertaken by the cooperation for livestock enhancement and welfare in India.
The visit concluded with a small milk based sweet distributed amongst the students.
