About the Activity

Logic Wars was a thrilling debate of young minds coming together to craft a rich environment of educational conversation on topics pressing the jubilant youth of our nation. The topics were decided ahead of the debate and the teams came prepared with thorough preparation and a clear objective in mind, Win. The judges for the session were Dr. Animesh, Dr. Yogita Sharma and Dr. Chhavi.

The events proceeded cordially and on time in IG03 on 22nd Feb 2024 at noon and we started with the topic concerned with Big Data Analytics. The goal of this debate was to clear the air on the rising reliance on big data models like LLMs and AI and whether it is a bane or a boon.

The teams gave a rich argument for and against the topics and left the conclusion up to the audience but in the eyes of the judges there was a clear winner which was the team arguing against the use of AI. Members of winning team were Kushagra, Harshit and Abhay.

After a short recess we rejourned to debating with the topic that had the most meat on its bone, the union budget and if it were effectively addressing modern economic problems. The team arguing for the current union budget just edged out a victory by relying on their well-researched statistics and supreme control over their argument. Members of winning team were Janhavi, Devvrat and Jigyanshu. Ms. janhavi was also awarded as best speaker for the session.

The audience was listening with extreme focus trying to keep up while the judges made thrilling interjections that only helped stir the pot and put the teams of kilter to see how they can adapt to logical fallacies and traps being set up in their way.

The organization ensured the event flowed smoothly throughout and everything was set up prior. In conclusion the event accomplished everything it set out to do and more so.
