ASSOCHAM declares MRIU as the ‘Best Private University for Research Promotion & Innovation in India’

Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) was felicitated with ASSOCHAM – Education Excellence Award 2014 for the Best Private University for Research Promotion & Innovation in India’. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri O P Kohli at a glittering award ceremony organized by ASSOCHAM in association with Education Post in Ahmedabad.

This is the second consecutive time that ASSOCHAM and Education Post have bestowed Manav Rachna International University with this prestigious award. The award was received by Col. V K Gaur, Advisor, MREI.

Manav Rachna Education Institutions (MREI) have a strong research and development focus with more than 84 filed patents and 3000 published research papers in international and national journals. Ecstatic on being bestowed with this honour for the second time, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, Chancellor, MRIU said: “This award is a true translation of the vision of our Founder Chairman Dr. O.P. Bhalla. MRIU has been liberally encouraging and supporting its faculty to undertake research by providing financial assistance and laboratory wherewithal. Faculty members are encouraged to attend Faculty Development Programs both within and outside the University. We believe in real innovation and this award further strengthens our conviction.”

Awards were presented to around 20 education institutes across various categories including Best Infrastructure, Academic Excellence, Green Campus, Industry – Academic partner, Hi-Tech campus, among others.

Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC), a seminal initiative of Manav Rachna International University caters to the needs of students and faculty members who are oriented towards research and development, innovation and are buzzing with out-of-the-box ideas. MRIIC is fully equipped with design, fabrication and manufacturing facilities, which are available to the users on 24×7 basis. Students conceive ideas and transform these into products using existing facilities. The focus is on applied research leading to patents, research publications in reputed Journals/ Conferences and generation of IRPs, with the ultimate aim of improving employability skills of the University Graduates. Several projects developed at the Centre including ‘RespirON’, ‘Saviour Suit’, ‘Smart Skull’ have won accolades at International platforms.
