Workshop on ‘Art of teaching Science’
‘Teaching the Teachers’ is the aim of the Workshop being held at Manav Rachna campus here today. And this time round, the focus is on Science teachers in particular. Faculty of Education, Manav Rachna University is organizing the Workshop for Science Teachers – Teaching Classes, 5 – 10 on the Topic – ‘Art of Teaching Science’ as part of the In service Training Programme for Teachers. Around 43 Teachers from various Schools such as Sprigdales School, Dhaula Kuan; G.D. Goenka, Gurgaon; Ramjas School, Pusa Road; Ahlcon School, Mayour Vihar; Lotus Valley School, Noida; Gyan Mandir, Naraina; DAV Public School, ShresthVihar; among others are participating in the Workshop.
The Department of Education at MRU has been identifying the needs of veterans and novice teachers, special educators, curriculum planners, school leaders and the like to simplify the herculean task of ‘training the trainers’. Since Inservice Teacher Education cannot be an event, rather it is a process, the Department of Education has been conducting various workshops by a team of highly qualified and dedicated teacher educators on areas pertaining to various Subjects, Generic aspects and Capacity Building.
The present Workshop devoted towards Science Teachers has been curated by Faculty of Education, Manav Rachna University and Team. In the current session, Science Teachers are being given a whole new perspective on the teaching-learning process to keep themselves updated with the latest trends in teaching and the educational system. Workshop is meant to tell Teachers how to get their class involved. The Workshop is in line with the Continuous Professional Development initiative and it is an important requisite for every teacher since education is dynamic
