Interior Design Society visited Miracle Charitable Society
A visit to Miracle Charitable Society, Faridabad, was planned recently with B.Sc Interior Design students. The initiative was taken by Ms. Smriti Saigal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Architecture and Design, to involve the students in social welfare activities.
Miracle Charitable Society runs by Mrs. Simran Lamba, Director and social worker who has been running the organization for the past six years. She believes that every child deserves a loving and caring family. Presently, around 35 children and only 12 children can read and write.
The purpose of the visit was to develop a sense of empathy and compassion among students for the special children and share their creative skills with them. Ms. Aditi Kashyap and Ms. Nishuda Panchal, both B. Sc. – Interior Design students, volunteered to spend time with the students and engage them in fun and engaging activities such as math exercises, reciting poems, and identifying pictorial images. They later celebrated the day by decorating the space with balloons. Faculty Ms. Smriti Saigal distributed refreshments and rewarded each child with stationery goodies for their participation.
It was a joyful and memorable experience for all that helped to view life as a continuous learning experience from different strata of society.
