Participation in workshop on “Strategic Management of Intellectual Property Rights” Organized By Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs
Prof Jaideep Singh, Director Industry-Interface and Head, Department of Humanities& Language and Prof. Dr Rajat Gera, Head of the Department of Management and Commerce, MRU, attended a two day workshop on Strategic Management of Intellectual Property Rights organized by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs at IMT, Manesar, Gurgaon.
IICA is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The workshop was organized by the Centre of MSME, IICA and consisted of sessions on Introduction to IPR, copyright, Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Patents and Industrial designs, Information Technology related IPR, Trade Secrets and Role of IPR in Branding.
The speakers were MrGovind Sharma, Ex Chief IPR of NRDC; Mr R. P. Yadav, Founder and Managing Partner, SR4IPR; Mr Rahul Taneja, Scientist, Patent Information Centre, Intellectual property facilitation Centre for MSMEs, Dept of Science and Technology and Mr Dang, GM, Next Media LTD.
The workshop enhanced the understanding of various nuances and importance of IPR through case studies and live examples. The procedure and practices related to filing of IPR were explained and demonstrated.
