The Department of Sciences (Mathematics Programme), Manav Rachna University, organized a career counselling session on “Understanding Higher Education Pathways” by Ms. Ridhima Nehra (M.Sc. Mathematics; 2018 – 2020) on February 6, 2023. Ms. Ridhima is currently pursuing Ph.D. from North Dakota State University, USA. The session was conducted online mode on Microsoft Teams (Link: https://tinyurl.com/5n867x7r ) at 10 am.

The session commenced with warm greetings extended to the esteemed speaker and the audience. Dr. Aparna Vyas, the Programme Head for Mathematics, graciously provided a concise introduction to the remarkable background and accomplishments of Ms. Ridhima. Ms Ridhima started the talk by sharing her experiences of the journey from Manav Rachna to her Ph.D. in the USA. She shared how research guidance and encouragement from her research mentors helped her to get admission to the doctoral programme. She also shared that the guidance from her research mentors helped her to grow as a researcher and made her capable of presenting papers in various workshops and conferences during her Master’s tenure. Many questions were asked by the students which Ms. Ridhima answered very skilfully. She shared the procedure to apply for admission to the Ph.D. programme and Master’s degree programmes. Ms. Ridhima motivated students to strive for excellence and maintain impressive academic performance. She encouraged them to remain dedicated to their aspirations and foster a lifelong thirst for knowledge. The students were enthralled by her insights. As the event drew to a close, Ms. Savitta, the event organizer, extended her gratitude to Ms. Ridhima for her invaluable contribution.
