#BeatPlasticPollution
Under the Government’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”, Manav Rachna University has taken various initiatives including the cleanliness drives at Old Faridabad Railway Station.
On June 22nd, a cleanliness drive was organized by Manav Rachna Centre for Peace and Sustainability, MRU, under the auspices of Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation, in collaboration with the HSMD, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This initiative aimed to promote cleanliness aligning with the goal of a cleaner India. In keeping with the World Environment Day theme #BeatPlasticPollution, the team conducted a poster awareness drive at the station to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic waste and promote its alternatives. The team spent 3 to 4 hours cleaning the platforms, stairs and area near the station. They diligently worked together to ensure that these public spaces were free from litter, debris, and any other forms of waste. By doing so, they not only contributed to the cleanliness of the station but also aimed to create a more pleasant and hygienic environment for the passengers and the community as a whole.
