‘Health & Brains’ – An online debate competition
On April 21, 2021, with the aim to sensitize, discuss and learn, MRU E cell organized an online debate competition incorporating the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) i.e., Good Health and Well Being.
It was heartening to see an overwhelming response of 50+ students across universities and colleges who participated in this event. Participants from different prestigious colleges across India took part in this event, namely, VES Business School (Mumbai), BSBRALC (Lucknow), College of Vocational Studies (DU), Ambedkar University (Delhi), Gargi College (DU), ULLS (Delhi), and more.
The participants were given the theme ‘How pharmaceutical entrepreneurs turned the world’s tragedy into their own fortune.’ Some participants argued for the motion and some against the motion. The participants were well prepared and they used various skills like overstatement, definition, rhetoric, irony, etc. to convince the audience. The participants, armed with statistics and data validated and made their arguments more emphatic with right facial expressions, body movements, and gestures.
