GD on “Analysis of the novel Jude the Obscure” for MA English III Sem Students

Department of English, Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities, MRIIRS organized a virtual Group Discussion for the students of 3rd Semester M.A. English recently. The topic of the discussion was “Analysis of the novel Jude the Obscure”. Students were divided into three teams and discussed the following themes: Characters of the Novel, Themes of the Novel and Critical Analysis of the Novel. The discussion was animated, and the students showed their in-depth knowledge of the novel. The objective of organizing the activity was to enable the students to think critically and develop reasoning skills. The activity was organized by Dr. Jayashree Hazarika, while the judgment was done by Dr. Jyoti Sharma of the Department of English. 

The fluency of language, argumentative communication skill, awareness about the topic, and team spirit were the criteria of judgment. Three winners of the activity were announced:

First– Disha Bera

Secon – Bhumika Sihag and Sakshi Garg

Third– Deepika Sethi and Aditi Jain

The Second Team won the prize for the best performance.
