The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) was formed with the vision of being recognized as a leading center of technical education with a global perspective and an ambience conducive for change, creativity and innovation. The department seeks to combine excellence in education and research. In addition to classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to implement the principles learnt in classrooms through experimentations in the laboratories which help students gain confidence and become skilled engineering professionals.
The Department has a pool of well qualified faculty members with rich experience in teaching, research and industry; who have been imparting quality education at undergraduate and post-graduate level. The Department is committed to provide an outstanding research and learning environment to its students. The faculty members are constantly involved in research activities in the areas of Electronics & Communication engineering with emphasis on Communications, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI and Embedded Systems. The laboratories have been strengthened and modernized by procuring state-of-the-art equipment and latest software. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, the students are also exposed to emerging trends in the industry and are molded to be quality professionals of the future.
The Department has introduced the concept of compulsory in-house summer training, beyond the University curriculum; to provide specific customized training to the students and for extended learning. Students actively organize and participate in various workshops and seminars under the aegis of IEEE. Continuous winning streak at Microsoft Imagine Cup and other national and international events is testimonial to the rich culture being provided by the department.
