Department of Applied Sciences is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. We prepare students for meeting technological challenges faced by the ever-changing world. Department has a team of well experienced and highly qualified faculty members who are enthusiastically engaged in cutting-edge research in emerging areas. Faculty members have contributed more than 500 publications in reputed national/ international journals/conferences and also authored many books/book chapters.

 Department offers Ph.D. programme in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and also supports many programmes of MRIIRS by offering different courses of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and Management with an interdisciplinary focus. Designed courses emphasize on different scientific and management domains, spanning global as well as local interests. Lab courses of Physics and Chemistry are fine-tuned to enable students to learn basic laboratory skills, techniques with hands-on experience of modern experiments.

The doctoral students are mentored in diverse areas of Physical, Chemical and Mathematical sciences. The aim of the Ph.D. programme is to provide quality inputs and the state-of the art skills to students through effective learning and research. Every year, the department organizes conferences, expert talks, workshops and competitions on varied topics of academic relevance.
