We offer B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics program.

 

  1. What is the eligibility requirement for the B.Sc. program?

Pass in 10+2 Examination/ Equivalent Examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate in 5 subjects out of which 4 subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English are mandatory.

 

  1. What is the selection criterion?

Merit preparation/ short listing of candidates shall be on the basis of score in SAT/ MRNAT/ 10+2 Qualifying Examination 

  1. What is the Reservation policy?

Manav Rachna University presently follows the reservation policy as under:

  • NRI/Foreign National/PIO seats: 15% in all programs/courses.
  • General Seats: 95% (25% seats are reserved for Haryana domicile students, of which 10% seats are for the SC candidates of Haryana).
  • Kashmiri Migrants: 1 seat over and above the normal intake in all the UG programs.

 

  1. What is MRNAT?

Manav Rachna National Admission Test (MRNAT). MRNAT shall be conducted by the University across various disciplines, for which syllabus would be available on the ‘Admission’ link on MRU Website. All applicants are instructed to follow the MRU website on regular basis for date of counseling and other details related to the admission process.

  • The curriculum is based on Choice Based Credit System as per the guidelines of UGC and also addresses the principles of New education Policy (NEP) 2020.

  • There is compulsory summer training after 2nd and 4th semester for B.Sc.(Hons.) programme in campus/ off campus. It provides skill enhancement and exposure to latest technology trends.
  • Student’s project in Vth&VIth semester helps to develop research acumen right from the undergrad levels.

  1. What are the details of this Additional Certification course in Data Science?

The additional course in Data Science shall be offered as Value added courses during the entire program. The module per semester shall be of 30- 40 hrs per semester. On successful completion of a module a certificate shall be provided to the student.

 

 

  1. Is there any fee of the Additional Certification course in Data Science?

No. There is no fee for the Department of Mathematics, MRU students.

 

  1. What kind of supervision will I receive?

The Faculty members of the department are mostly Doctorates from the premier institutes of the country. They have rich teaching experience and expertise in their research area and are actively involved in research work.

For the Data Science course the modules shall be taken by Computer Science Experts.

 

  1. Is there any Scholarship policy?

Yes.

  • Bhavya Budhiraja, student of B.Sc.(H) Mathematics got placed in January 2021 during her VIth semester in LIDO LEARNING, NOIDA office at an annual Package of 10 LPA(CTC) through on campus placement.
  • Harshita Gautam, student of B.Sc.(H) Mathematics got placedin Acadecraft Pvt. Ltd. At a package of 2.16 LPA through virtual placement drive.
  • Mukesh, a student of B.Sc. (H) Mathematics got placed as a data analyst at a package of 5.4 LPA in WEADDO.

No, the hostel fee is mentioned separately.

 

  1. Can one go abroad for higher studies after graduating from MRU ?

 

Yes, MRU degree is as good as the one awarded by any central or state university. A Bachelor degree holder from MRU can also apply for higher studies in any of the Indian or overseas universities.

Our students are pursuing Post Graduation in Mathematics at IIT’s and also abroad.Ms. ChhaviBaliyan, a student of  B.Sc.(Hons.) Mathematics, 2017-2020 batch is pursuing Masters in Actuarial Science from University College Dublin, Ireland.

We have a well-organized placement cell called Corporate Resource Centre which is doing commendable job year after year. We have good rapport with a number of companies.

Special courses to enhance the employability skills are embedded in the curriculum. Trainings are also conducted during summer training program.

  1. What are the means to reach MRU from Delhi, Gurgaon and nearby places?

MRU is situated at the picturesque Aravali Hills area of Faridabad which is well connected by road and neared Delhi Metro station is about 5 kms from the campus. MRU has its own strong fleet of 40 buses which ply all over NCR.

 

  1. How safe is MRU campus?

The University provides a 24-hour Security Service that operates 365 days a year. Crime is extremely low on campus and this service goes a long way to ensure it remains that way. They provide an emergency line with high priority access to the emergency services. All measures are taken to ensure the safest environment possible. The Security Office also advises students on how to prevent crime themselves. Residential and main campus areas are extremely well-lit and there are several emergency call points.

The M.Sc. programme is designed to provide updated knowledge of mathematics and its applications in many areas. The students are also trained to develop multidisciplinary approach by carrying a research project.
