Workshop on Innovative Strategies in Teaching and Learning Process
Department of Chemistry organized a workshop on ‘Innovative Strategies in Teaching and Learning Process’ for MRIS faculty members. The session was conducted by Dr. Megha Bansal, Dr. Ekta Rawat, Dr. Priti Gupta, and Dr. Shilpa Sharma. The workshop majorly focused on online teaching and how to make it more effective and interactive. It also focused upon Best Lab Practices, Collaboration Tools in Online Teaching and Fun with Science. Faculties from different school MRIS Sector 14, Faridabad, MRIS, Noida, MRIS, Gurugram, MRIS CW, and MRIS Ludhiana participated in the workshop.
The workshop began with introductory remarks of Ms. Priyanka followed by an overview of Green Chemistry and best lab practices followed by the Chemistry department by Dr. Megha.
Dr. Priti shared various online tools to make classes highly interactive while Dr. Shilpa shared various apps which can be effectively used even on phone for teaching and assessment. Dr. Ekta demonstrated some DIY experiments related to theory concepts in class VIII-XII which can be easily performed at home by utilizing all chemicals available at home only.
The session was coordinated by Ms. Priyanka from MRIS. The participants appreciated the interaction of school and University faculty members where challenges in the teaching-learning process can be addressed effectively.
