Study Visit to SurajKund Crafts Mela
The Department of Architecture & Design, MRIIRS planned a study visit to 35th Surajkund Craft Mela for the students of Architecture of all the semesters on 28th March 2022. The study visit was well organized by Simran Vats, Assistant Professor, FAD under the guidance of Shruti Jain HoD, FAD.
The students get acquainted with the diverse arts and crafts from different parts of the world and the country. The students also witnessed different cultures and multi-cuisine food provides ethnic cuisines from all over the world.
The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. At least 20 countries & all the states of India have participated in the Mela. A large number of renowned national and international folk artists and cultural groups present day performances at both the Chaupals, the open-air theatres, located in the Mela premises and much more.
A splash of colors, rhythm of drum beats, the craftsmanship and joy de-vivre, at Surajkund craft mela gave students a new vision towards the artists and the cultures of the different regions of the world. The students also came across the different architecture styles from the monuments and the gateways presented by many states and countries at the mela.
