RSC Workshop on ‘CHEMISTRY FOR TOMORROW’S WORLD’
An International RSC Workshop on ‘Chemistry for Tomorrow’s World’ was organized during December 2-3, 2015 at Hotel Maidens, New Delhi. The workshop was jointly organized by Green Chemistry Network Centre (GCNC), Delhi University, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad and Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida. The workshop was sponsored by Indian Oil R&D Centre, Faridabad and Royal Society of Chemistry, London.
In the workshop, there were 14 lectures from eminent experts invited from University of York, UK, Green Chemistry Institute, USA, IITs, Panjab University, IOCL R&D, NIPER Mohali & Hyderabad, Shiv Nadar University, DRDO, Delhi University and CDRI, Lucknow. 22 oral papers were presented in 5 Technical Sessions viz. “Green Chemistry, Energy & Suitability, Medicinal Chemistry, and Organic Synthesis & Green Chemistry Suitability”. There were poster presentations on both the days and 39 posters were displayed.
Prof. R.C. Mehrotra Memorial Lecture was delivered by Prof. Ashutosh Sharma (Secretary Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi), on “Delights of Doing Research: Some Personal Lessons from Translational Sciences”, where he stressed on the power of lateral thinking and scientific creativity in solving scientific problems.
