Industrial Visit of Economics Students to Bhartiya Value Pvt. Ltd
Students of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (FBSS) at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) went for an Industrial Visit to Bhartiya Value Pvt. Ltd., Faridabad, Haryana, recently. About 19 BA Economics and MA Economics students, along with three faculty members, Dr. Durairaj Kumarasamy, Associate Professor and Head, Dr. Priya Vij, Associate Professor, and Dr. Puja Chopra, Assistant Professor, accompanied the industrial visit.
Mr. JP Malhotra, CEO, and Mr. Gautam Malhotra, MD of Bhartiya Valves Pvt. Ltd., greeted the students and faculty. Mr. Gautam Malhotra briefed us about the company’s profile, the production process, and the manufacturing stages to the students. Followed by Mr. JP Malhotra, CEO, shared his experiences and gave an overview of his journey as an entrepreneur and how he became an employer from the employee. The students met with corporate executives and department heads to analyze the industry’s overall effectiveness, the company’s strategy, and their experience in creating supply- and demand-side shocks during the crisis. Bhartiya Valves Pvt Ltd, Faridabad, has been pioneering in manufacturing high-pressure gas cylinder valves for industrial, medical, and fire fighting cylinders and spares & engineering components over the last two decades. Their products have been highly relevant in supplying health care products to hospitals to domestic markets for consumption during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, the students benefited through their interaction in understanding the industrial environment, various production processes, the company’s supply chain strategy, and its preparedness in times of crisis. The students visited the entire manufactured plant and had an opportunity to get hands-on experience with real problems SMEs face and how they face the challenges daily. The students presented the memento on behalf of the Economics Department and extended their gratitude.
