Healthy Eating Habits And Harmful Effects of Junk Food
A Workshop on “Healthy Eating Habits and Harmful Effects of Junk food” was conducted for 1st Standard students of Manav Rachna International School, Sector 51 Gurugram (MRIS-51, Ggn) recently. Ms. Vansikha Vashisht and Ms Chenika Yadav (BSc, IV Semester Students) under the guidance of Ms. Shweta Singh, Assistant Prof., Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) conducted the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to create awareness amongst children for healthy eating. It also aimed to draw a distinction between nutritious and junk food. The benefits of healthy eating were also highlighted along with the harmful effects of eating junk.
Students actively participated in all the activities and were able to correlate the colour of fruits and vegetables with nutritious ingredients. A story telling session was also a part of the workshop which pertained to the common food groups. Ms. Pooja Puri, Principal MRIS-51, Ggn concluded the session with request that such workshops should be conducted for the parents also.
