Architecture and ID Students converted Eco-Bricks into functional items
A small & mindful initiative to transition from plastic in our homes, communities and enterprises into a functional element to reduce waste & hence plastic pollution.
Faculty of Architecture and Design Department, MRIIRS in collaboration with Dr. OP Bhalla Foundation organized an Eco Bricks Activity for the students of B.Sc. ID and B.Arch, Batch 2021 recently. This was an initiative to convert the eco-bricks into something useful to reduce Plastic Waste pollution.
Participants worked in teams of 3-4 students with the main idea to create something functional out of waste. Around 150 compressed plastic bottles filled with waste plastic material were used and turned into Eco bricks. Other materials like Plyboards were also used as tabletops. Out of these, the products created were: a waste bin, 4 sittings, and 3 center tables that were kept outside in the campus near the E-block outside of the canteen area and center courtyard of B-block.
