5-Day Skill Development Training Programme by National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Faridabad
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, FET, MRIU organized a 5-DAY SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME for EEE Students. This training was conducted by NATIONAL POWER TRAINING INSTITUTE (NPTI), FARIDABAD, a National Apex Body set up by the Ministry of Power, Government of India for Human Resource Development in the Power Sector. NPTI has more than 50 years of professional expertise in the field of H.R.D in the Power Sector with the industry-specific technical interface and is one of the best institutions of its kind not only in India but also in the world, fulfilling the demand of the Power sector and allied Energy sector.
Skill Development is an initiative of Government of India to empower the youth with appropriate skills to make them industry ready. Ministry of Power, Government of India has given the mandate to NPTI to conduct skill training program at various levels and as per industry need in the different areas related to Power sector i.e. Generation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, energy conservation, and GIS and GPS application in power sector.
The 5-day training program consisted of a 3-day classroom session taken by the Faculty from NPTI–Ms. Vatsala Sharma and Mr. Mahender Singh at the MRIU campus. The session provided in-depth knowledge spanning about ‘SMART GRID’. The students were also familiarized with the latest advancements in power Wind and Solar energy.
On the last 2 days, all students visited NPTI Faridabad where they were trained and given hands-on experience on 500 MW Thermal Power plant simulator and a 430 MW Combined Cycle gas Turbine Power system simulator. The course of the training so conducted was as per the needs of the Industry and requirement of the Institute/Organization.
Both classroom session and industrial visit were highly interactive providing a good exposure to the Students on theoretical and practical concepts of Electrical Engineering.
