Late Padamshree Dr.Pritam Singh
An inspiring role model, Dr. Pritam Singh spent his entire life tirelessly doing what he did best: awakening students, academia, corporate heads and policy makers to raise their excellence levels. As the Chairman and member of several policymaking committees and bodies of Government of India, he stamped his perspective on policy issues that surround both management education and corporate management in India. He sat on the Boards of five reputed private and public sector organizations helping them initiate the change process and charter a winning corporate strategy. As a consultant, Dr Pritam Singh worked with more than 200 CEOs in India and abroad and conducted more than 100 retreats for the top management of both private and public sector organizations as well as Multi-national Corporations.
Indeed he is the eternal guru, the trainer, the coach, and the counselor at the Board and the Top Management level of the Indian Corporate World having conducted numerous workshops and retreats for the C.E.Os. of various organizations in the corporate world. Dr. Pritam Singh has the unique distinction of organizing and directing the first retreat of the Central Ministers as part of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s initiative to develop Ministers as Transformational Leaders and Change Masters when he was Professor and Dean at Administrative Staff College of India-Hyderabad. While he was director of IIM-Lucknow, Dr Singh organized retreats for Vice Chancellors and Deans of Universities for improving governance of universities.
As an academic administrator, Dr. Pritam Singh had an unparalleled record. With his entrepreneurial vision and path breaking innovative methods, Dr. Pritam Singh turned around the fortunes of IMI-Delhi (where he was the Director General 2011-2014); MDI (where he was director 1994-1998 & 2003-2006) and IIM Lucknow (where he was director 1998-2003). He also made significant contributions in reorienting the foci of Administrative Staff College of India and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) where he worked as Dean and Senior Professor. Quite fittingly therefore, he earned the repute of Midas touch Director.
A thought leader with extraordinary insight, Dr. Singh authored numerous academically reputed books, three of which are award winning. He also published over 60 research papers in various national and international journals. He was a globally sought after speaker and had addressed various Indian and global audiences including Chambers of Commerce in various countries notably Holland, France, Germany, Greece, Russia, UK, USA, Thailand, Mauritius, Egypt etc.
Dr Singh remained very active in academic advisory having served in various capacities for the cause of higher education. Notable positions held include:
Chairman of Indira Gandhi Technical University (ongoing);
Visitor’s nominee for Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University and IIT-Delhi Member of the Executive Council of Banaras Hindu University, University of Pondicherry, Central University of Himachal Pradesh and Central University, Tezpur;
Vice Chairman of the AICTE committee for accreditation of Management Institutes
Chairman of the Sub-committee ‘Institutional Management and Leadership Development in Higher Education’ instituted by the Planning Commission for 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017).
Member 6th Pay commission for IITs, IIMs and NIITs
Member of the Tenth Five Year Plan for the Higher Education.

Dr. Singh had also been the member of some important Government Committees. In 2016 he was appointed by the Ministry of Defence as expert member of Defence Acquisition and Procurement Committee. The other notable committee memberships are :
