Manav Rachna Excellence Awards 2019

Award

In its ceaseless commitment towards Academic Excellence and Quality Education, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) has been assiduously carrying forward the legacy of Founder Visionary Dr O.P. Bhalla who believed in the mantra of ‘creating better human beings’. What better way to pay tribute to his missionary zeal than to institute the first-of-its-kind  Manav Rachna Excellence Award-2018’ (MREA 2018)  in a glittering ceremony that would honour some of the greatest minds in the world of Industry and Sports. In an India driven by innovations, enterprise and boundless creativity, the Awards in memory of Manav Rachna’s Founder Father Dr O.P. Bhalla would undoubtedly inspire young minds to take India to unprecedented heights of glory.

  • Mr. Roopam Sharma
    (Indian Scientist)

    Amongst the qualities of outstanding achievers, focus, determination, loyalty and perseverance, remain the common components. Known for his unstinted commitment, Mr. Roopam Sharma is an Indian Scientist and innovation fanatic who is working on solving world challenges through technical innovation. He believes in the adage that “our imagination is our only limitation” and hence, works obsessively towards building a better world for handicapped and challenged people.

     

  • Ms. Deepa Malik
    (Shot put Silver Medalist Paralympic 2016 at Rio)

    If one was to talk about battling all odds and emerging a winner, Ms. Deepa Malik stands as a living testament. It is with her extraordinary commitment, service to the nation, and liberal approach, that she became the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and won a Silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the shot put. Her panoramic vision, professionalism and direction in pursuit of excellence have made her the recipient of India’s fourth highest civilian honor: the Padma Shri.

     

His Excellency Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Tripura presided over Manav Rachna Excellence Awards 2018, as the Chief Guest, which was held on April 14, 2018.

The Hon’ble Governor has been an exemplary and a visionary mentor to the Manav Rachna family, a great leader who has been dedicated to the service of society and the nation. Manav Rachna earnestly appreciates and treasures the fountain of learning that he has kept flowing. He is deeply admired for his humility, diligence and for being an exceptional human being with a sense of unwavering purpose.

Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki has been a pillar of strength to Manav Rachna at every step in this journey to become an established name in the realms of education. His guidance has been an integral ingredient of all important endeavors at Manav Rachna that has inspired passion and courage to be the best in the field.

As the Chief Guest of Manav Rachna Excellence Awards 2018, Prof. Solanki bestowed Manav Rachna Excellence Award 2018 to the industry stalwarts along with Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, and other dignitaries.

Evaluation

The recommended nominees for the Manav Rachna Excellence Awards 2018 have been considered after the evaluation of their achievements in the industry and contribution to the nation. The Search Committee headed by Padma Shri Dr. Pritam Singh includes the who’s who of the industry and academia, most notably Mr S.K. Roongta (Former Chairman, SAIL); Mr. S.Y. Siddiqui (Chief Mentor, Maruti Suzuki); Prof. Dr. Anand Prakash (Dean, International Relations—Humanities and Social Sciences, DU); Dr. Umesh Rai (Prof. Department of Zoology, Former Director, DU- South Campus); Mr. R.K. Dubey (Former Chairman, Canara Bank); Mr. R.S. Sharma (Former Chairman, ONGC); Mr. P. Dwarkanath (Ex- Director HR GSK & Advisor HR, Max Group); Mr. Jude Magima (Sr. Advisor- McKinsey & Company); Mr. Kishore Jayaraman (President India & South Asia, Rolls Royce); Dr. Sanjay Srivastava (MD, MREI & VC, Manav Rachna University); and Prof. Jaideep Singh (Director Industry & Interaction- MRU- Member Secretary).

As per the deliberations of the committee members, awardees were primarily decided by the opinion polls of a sample consisting of 700 stakeholders. The Search Committee, post the deliberation of the results of the opinion polls finally agreed upon and recommended the nominees for the award of Manav Rachna Excellence Award-2018.
